Everyone arrived Friday night at the middle rock holiday park by nightfall and quickly setup up there campers and tents and sat around for a chat before bed. The next day everyone was up early getting ready to hit the sand a few where going out to look around the local towns while the main group headed for Anna Bay for last minutes supplies and beach passes after a quick stop we all re-grouped at the Anna Bay beach entry to air down before driving on the sand.
We drove along the beach for a while and then tried to get onto the inland track where we saw a tour bus on a big dune so decided to go up there for a look. A few of us got stuck on the way and needed assistance but once we all got up there was some great sand boarding thanks Bob/Peter so supplying the boards and winch strap to pull yourself back up the dune. We then headed back down the dune onto the inland track in search on tin city but on the way Adam’s Pajero had overheated with holes in the radiator loosing water we tried a bush repair but it did not work and was decided a tow back to camp was needed. Bob towed Adam back to camp and the rest of us pushed on to Tin City and the Sygna wreck but on the way Craig’s Patrol was also over heating so we made the decision to exit thru Lavis Lane being a quicker way to get back on the black top. We all aired up at the Lavis Lane server and drove back to camp for some relaxation.
Some of us did a quick trip out to one mile beach via a track next the holiday park the sand was very loose in parts and some of us got stuck running highway pressure but after letting some air out we could drive away also greeted by the locals camping out there was a shock as clothes are optional.
Sunday morning everyone packed up as it started to rain on and off, Andrew was going to tow Adam back on a car trailer while the rest when home or to the Newcastle Camping show.
Another great weekend for most (Sorry Adam hope you get the car all fixed for next time)
