Everyone met up at Caltex Wilberforce and despite a couple of late withdrawals we still had 8 cars for the convoy. We managed to get away on time and headed North on the Putty road for an little over an hour to the rest stop just before the old half way house. A quick stop was made before heading up Commission Rd and into Wollemi National Park.
The drive was pretty easy with nothing challenging to get through. Couple of the cars decided to tackle the old track up the hill under the powerlines and also made it up fairly easily. The rest of us went around on the main track and met them at the top. We continued on with a few pauses for photos before arriving at The Sheep Skin Hut.
Stephen quickly got a fire going while the rest of us got set up for lunch. All the kids had a ball running around in the bush and looking through the hut and drying shed. After nice long lunch several coffees and much chit chat we all packed up got the kids in the cars and headed back up to the main track.
The drive out was again nice and easy although we did make a stop for Bob and Brendan to have a little play and test their skills reversing over some large mounds and a few more photos to be taken. A quick stop was made to pump up tyres once back on the bitumen before heading for home.
Thank you to everyone for coming out and making it a great day.
