Jan 2017 - Mystery Tour
January 2017 Mystery Tour.....
So our little mystery day turned into even more of a mystery
with the unfortunate last minute withdrawal of the trip leader. Not to be
deterred the remaining participants met up at BP Kurmond and headed west
towards Zig Zag. We stopped for a quick look at Clarence Dam but with it all
but overflowing access was very restricted and a quick dip was shortly
dismissed. The call went out for a comfort stop and we headed off toward the
Zig Zag car park but not before a brief play on one of the exit tracks. This
saw both Nicole and Deb step up and give it a go (Kylie where are you). Both
did really well and got through unscathed.
After a brief stop in at Zig Zag we aired down and headed
out for a bit more of a play under the power lines on the way to Bungle Boree.
The Disco showed the way and went unusually well until Kylie tried to get in
the car only to find the side step pushed up preventing the door from opening.
Unfortunately Andrew found the same problem when attempting to get out and
assist.... After a brief stint of panel beating (jumping up and down on the
steps) we continued on to Lost City for a look via one of the side tracks which
was some fairly decent driving and had everyone holding their breath.
Lunch became the order of the day and we quickly shot back
to Clarence, aired up and took off to Little Hartley. As mentioned previously
the last minute loss of the trip leader saw Andrew and Kylie on line first
thing in the morning looking for swimming holes. Enter Hyde Park Reserve Little
Hartley, the kids had a ball, the adults cooled off and we all declared a
return visit was required. After a couple of hours splashing around we headed
back to the lolly shop for some treats before calling it a day.
