Gibraltar Rocks September 2013
Pictures Five cars met at Mt Victoria on a glorious Sunday morning. After a hearty breakfast for some we hit the road with Bob in the lead. Taking a scenic detour down Cox River Road we made our way down and across to our first pitt stop at Millionth Acre rest stop. After a leg stretch and chat we were in the cars and on our way towards Mini Mini Road and Fire Trail. We made our way down maintained forrest roads and less maintained fire tracks with a few muddy puddles and rocky slopes until we arrived at our ultimate destination of Gibraltar Rock. Stopping for morning tea we all took in the amazing view of the Blue Mountains and valleys. There was not a cloud in the sky which made for clear views all the way from Lithgow around to Katoomba. After many photo ops we loaded up the cars again and made our way back up to the Mini Mini fire trail then made our across Little River Fire Trail to join the Six Foot Track. Stopping for a while at Little River crossing, we polished some of our camera skills aiming for some artistic shots. At the end of the six foot track we stopped for a late lunch at the Black Range camping ground before heading home with another quick coffee stop at the Lolly Bug. Great day, thanks Bob, fantastic scenery, good company and fun driving.
