 Video's and Photo's

The day started meeting up at Bob's place then quickly on the road and after a quick fuel and coffee stop we drove to Hartley Vale to check out an old pub for some photos. Next stop was lake Lyell for some more photos not long after we got off the black stuff where we parked near a sandy river bed and started the formal part of the day talking about driver awareness. We went through all the recovery gear and how to use it and also a good comparision what distance an obstacle is to plan your wheel placement and this was clearly different for each vehicle.

Back in the driver’s seat again we went through a practice snatch recovery and how to change a flat tyre on sand, Craig failed this task trying to use a Range Rover jack on a lifted patrol does not work? Not long after we found a good hill and all completed stall recoveries and I don’t see what the fuss is about “D” goes forward and “R” goes backwards? Or is that cheating?

We drove around for the rest of the afternoon many river crossings and even driving along one (check the video) some great tracks a bit overgrown at times and I opted for the chicken tracks on a few occasions. Finished up for a coffee at McDonalds then home, all up a great day thanks Bob
